Female Ribbon Eel, Swimming
Add to Cart Add to Lightbox DownloadRarely seen by divers, this adult female Ribbon Eel, Rhinomuraena quaesita, is distinguished by its yellow coloration. Juveniles are mostly black, changing into predominantly blue males, eventually turning into yellow females at about 85 cm length. This image is doubly rare because the animal is in the open; normally only head and shoulders protrude from burrow. Lembeh Strait, North Sulawesi, Indonesia, Pacific Ocean
